Jack Mallers is the CEO at Strike, a Bitcoin-based digital payment platform that also has a Lightning Network wallet option called Strike. Addressing the attendants at the Bitcoin 2022 Miami Conference, Mallers claimed that Strike has signed contracts with big major retailers like Shopify, Blackhawk Network, and NCR.
He claimed that his company is trying to bring Bitcoin back to its roots by allowing the users to conduct regular transactions with the top coin. He made it clear that with the help of LN, Bitcoin payment services will become possible across 400,000 franchise stores and every single Shopify branch in the United States.
Shopify’s Integration of Lightning Payments
Bitcoin investors have the option to make everyday purchases from the eCommerce website across the United States that accept Debit or Credit card payments. However, it is important to note that the service is available for Shopify stores and branches thus far. Mallers claimed at Miami that the service is already effective and anyone willing to purchase without any transaction fees.
He also claimed that people can now benefit from a faster and more secure alternative to the 1949 antiquated banking network. While presenting the idea at the Bitcoin 2022 Conference, Mallers used a slide that showed big retailers in the USA like McDonald’s, Macy’s, Circle K, Home Depot, Chipotle, Starbucks, Lowe’s, Woolworths, and others that Blackhawk and NCR assist.
The data from the start of the current year indicates that several cryptocurrency organizations like Kraken, Bitpay, and even Robinhood have decided to partner with the Lightning Network. The trend has started at a time when Wall Street banks like JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley have also started to show a greater interest in working with cryptocurrency organizations.
It is worth noting that LN is the second layer solution for the Bitcoin network that deploys smart contracts to make digital transactions possible. The main aim of LN is to promote Bitcoin as a viable alternative for the fiat currencies rather than presenting it as a hedge against inflation. To compete against the fiat currencies globally, LN is promoting its services by allowing 0% transaction fees for the shoppers.
